Julia Gruner macht sich bei der “Sturmhaut” die wasserabweisenden Eigenschaften von Acrylfarbe zunutze, bei der es sich im Grunde um einen Kunststoff mit eingerührten Pigmenten handelt. Die Arbeit wurde für die Ausstellung “Oh clouds, oh storms, oh winds... Kunst im Sturm” 2023 in der Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven gefertigt und wurde im Rahmen von Spaziergängen zu den Außenpositionen der Ausstellung an der Nordsee von Kurator Michael Stockhausen wie ein Regencape getragen. Zurück in der Kunsthalle an einem Haken in der Ausstellung hängend, verschwimmt die Grenze zwischen Malerei, Objekt und tatsächlichem Regencape.

In "Sturmhaut", Julia Gruner makes use of the water-repellent properties of acrylic paint, which is basically a plastic with pigments mixed in. The work was created for the exhibition "Oh clouds, oh storms, oh winds... Kunst im Sturm" exhibition at Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven in 2023 and was worn like a rain cape by curator Michael Stockhausen during walks to the exhibition's outdoor locations on the North Sea. Hanging back in the Kunsthalle on a hook in the exhibition, the boundary between painting, object and actual rain cape becomes blurred.
