Ein knapp 7 x 6 Meter großes textiles Tableau, eine Neuproduktion für die Ausstellung Schlaraffenland, die 2024 im Dortmunder Kunstverein stattfand, bildet die Grundlage dieser Edition. Angelehnt an barocke Stillleben zeigt das Gesamtmotiv hochaufgelöst gescannte Lebensmittel, deren nun fragmentierte Details eine gleichermaßen verführerische wie irritierende Ästhetik entfalten. Übergroß wie sie sind, lässt sich in diese tragbaren Kunstwerke beinahe alles versenken, wobei immer noch Platz für mehr bleibt. Ein Stück Schlaraffenland für den Alltag: sinnliche Versuchung und Übersättigung zugleich, spielerisch und kritisch in einem.
Jedes Exemplar ist ein handgenähtes Unikat von Amen Juvlja Mundial, einer kreativen Nähmanufaktur von Menschen aus der Rom*nja-Community in der Dortmunder Nordstadt.

A textile tableau measuring just under 7 x 6 meters—a new work created for the exhibition Schlaraffenland, which took place at the Dortmunder Kunstverein in 2024—forms the basis of this edition. Inspired by Baroque still lifes, the overall motif features high-resolution scans of food items, whose now-fragmented details unfold an aesthetic that is as seductive as it is unsettling. Oversized as they are, these portable works of art can accommodate almost anything, yet still leave room for more. A piece of Schlaraffenland for everyday life: sensual temptation and oversaturation at the same time, playful and critical in one.
Each piece is a hand-sewn, one-of-a-kind item by Amen Juvlja Mundial, a creative sewing workshop run by members of the Rom*nja community in Dortmund’s Nordstadt district.
