Die Arbeit ist anlässlich der Ausstellung “Oh clouds, oh storms, oh winds... KUNST IM STURM” der Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven entstanden. Hierfür hatte die Kunsthalle die Wilhelmshavener aufgerufen, an den Nordsee-Strand angeschwemmtes Treibgut zu sammeln und an die Künstlerin zu senden. Diese Reste dienten – neben Treibgut aus anderen Gewässern – als Vorlage für hochauflösende Scans, die anschließend großformatig auf Fahnestoff gedruckt wurden. Zwei der Fahnen wurden während der Ausstellungsdauer am Helgolandkai und drei weitere Fahnen vor der VHS und Stadtbibliothek in Wilhelmshaven gezeigt.
The work was created on the occasion of the exhibition "Oh clouds, oh storms, oh winds... KUNST IM STURM" at the Kunsthalle Wilhelmshaven. Following a call of the Kunsthalle the people of Wilhelmshaven collected flotsam washed up on the North Sea beach and sent it to the artist. These remnants - along with flotsam from other bodies of water - served as a template for high-resolution scans, which were then printed in large format on flag fabric. Two of the flags were displayed at Helgolandkai for the duration of the exhibition and three more flags in front of the VHS and municipal library in Wilhelmshaven.
